6X: "The Nightshade Council"
6X is a little series I've started in my spare time as I reflect on the interconnectedness of our environment, and our marriage with fungi.
Side note: an interesting study showing bats can tell two humans apart just from the subtle differences in breathing patterns. It's also pretty cool how the young bat fetus looks eerily human, until of course, the phalanges and metacarpals (finger bones) begin to elongate. They're important pollinators as well, with some plants being completely reliant upon them to spread their seed.

"Life is full"
Still musing over mushrooms and native fauna. I think I regret doing these one on toned paper, so will probably abandon and go back to something plain without those pesky fibers.

"Thistle Born"
Spiders, once you get to know them, aren't so bad...especially when one, such as myself (!) learns: baby spiders can travel for miles by climbing to a high point (on say, a tree or a building), casting a line of webbing out, and harnessing the wind. Not only eco friendly, but super cute.

"Bengal Trance"
I decided it was time to experiment with color a bit more, and went through a ton of different combos for this one. It was a little tedious, but I'm glad I didn't rush too much.

Belted Kingfisher...
I saw this bird for the first time in Oregon. It was cool to watch her swoop around the pond like a little blue electron, especially in contrast to a very large and serious great heron who was very focused on hunting, thank you very much!

Region X - Crystal Magma Deer
Another element for my side project. Thinking about exploring some other color variations at some point.
